About Phi Phi

Restaurant Phi Phi is a shared dream of creating an authentic Asian dining experience in Kerteminde. Behind the project are the two chefs Phong Thanh and the local entrepreneur Louise Andreasen together with her husband Jesper Egsvang Andreasen.

Phong Thanh originates from Vietnam and he came to Denmark in 1991, with his father. First he went to school in Assens and afterwards he took an apprenticeship with chef Jean Louis Lieffreoy at Falsled Kro. In addition, Phong was educated as a sushi chef in 2010. He is already, with great success, the founder of the sushi restaurants, Aiko Sushi in Nyborg and Middelfart, and the Vietnamese streetfood-concept Me Mothers in Odense and Vejle. Phong is driven by a desire to create, and an uncompromising attitude towards quality and service.

Louise Andreasen is the 3rd generation CEO of the furniture company Sika-Design that sells furniture all over the world. With its own factory in Indonesia, Sika-Design has its own special bond to Asia. Louise too, has developed a great enthusiasm for the Asian cuisine, throughout her many travels and visits in the East. Louise has mainly been responsible for the development of the interior and exterior decoration at Phi Phi. In addition, she is the co-owner and managing partner of the café, Lulu´s cafe & boutique. Jesper Egsvang Andreasen has lots of experience in renovating old town houses in Kerteminde. In cooperation with talented craftsmen and architects he has dedicated twelve month to rebuild and renovate Vestergade 12.

Phi Phi is a restaurant not only serving delicious food of a high quality, but also driven with a wish to meet certain sustainable principles as for interior design, ingredients and packaging.

Phi Phi is located at Vestergade 5 in Kerteminde, a building from 1855 which has been renovated very gently. Previously, the estate has accommodated dye-works, nursery garden, clockmaker, dairy sale, antique shop, and much more.
